Q. Can Caledonian Labs provide free sample containers?

Yes. Containers suitable for the collection of samples can be provided free of charge.
Whilst we make no charge for the containers we provide, we reserve the right to make a small charge (at cost) to cover containers not used and not returned to the laboratory.

Q. My current lab has recently introduced a sample disposal charge, do you charge for sample disposal, and if so, how much?

Caledonian Laboratories Limited do not charge for disposing of old samples. In exceptional circumstances where a large volume of material has been submitted, or if the material is found to be highly contaminated or hazardous, we may return the sample to the customer for disposal.

Q. Do you offer a collection service?

Yes. We can arrange to collect samples from your offices, or site. This service is usually free, but, there may be a small charge if the collection is outside of normal hours, if the location is more than 40 miles from any of our laboratories, or if the value of the project is small.

Q. Do you have UKAS Accreditation?

Caledonian Laboratories Limited is committed to providing a quality customer focussed service. To help us achieve this aim, we see UKAS accreditation as an essential, integral, part of our overall Quality Assurance system.  We hope to apply for UKAS Accreditation during the summer of 2012.

Q. Do you have MCERTS Accreditation?

At this time, SEPA does not require soil data to be assessed against the MCERTS Standard in Scotland. Our internal quality control and method validation procedures are, however, based upon the requirements of the MCERTS standard, and so upgrade to MCERTS Accreditation should not be an issue if it is required

Caledonian Laboratories Limited understand that you need to be kept up to date with the progress of your samples. We also understand that you are busy and that telephone updates may be inconvenient or distracting.
